Client Spotlight: Goal Five

Meet Goal Five!

Efforts towards gender equality are underway, and for that, there is much to celebrate. When it comes to the world of women’s sportswear, perhaps one of the most innovative and groundbreaking teams is Goal Five. Goal Five is no ordinary athleticwear brand; it is a women’s sports performance brand that is breaking down gender barriers. It is our honor to support their inevitable growth and to join them on their journey to pursue greatness for her.

Kickoff

For Keely Wachs, Carrie Kessler, and Ann Kletz, it all began with a love for soccer. Though they each have a unique connection to the game, it was a bigger cause that brought them together. This trio bonded over their mutual refusal to ignore a blatantly obvious issue occurring in the soccer industry. Keely, Carrie, and Ann had seen and experienced enough gender inequality taking place in sports performance apparel.

With their passion for women’s equality and their profound love for the sport, in 2016, Goal Five was born.

For Her, By Her

Goal Five’s mission is to ‘understand her, push her, and empower her to even the playing field.’ To put their mission into play, they’ve designed a three-pillared approach to address inequality in the game.

  1. Product: Goal Five believes that the gear athletes wear affects their overall performance. For years, female athletes have been dressed in apparel made for the male body. This is why Goal Five has designed their gear to specifically to meet the needs of female athletes.

  2. Profit: Five percent of all Goal Five’s profit is donated to organizations around the world whose missions are to introduce young women to the game of soccer and use the sport as a vehicle for social change. You can read more about these organizations here.

  3. Platform: Goal Five has designed a platform to address women’s equality. They believe that by providing women and girls, regardless of race or socio-economic status, with the means to perform their best, they become confident leaders, both on and off the field.

I’ll never stop fighting so that someday all girls get the gift—and the right— of soccer and equal status in society. For me, there is no better place from which to fight than Goal Five.
— Ann Kletz, Goal Five Co-Founder

Further than the Field

Goal Five’s mission to level the playing field for women extends much further than sports. By kicking gender inequality from the game, Goal Five is destined to make a difference in women’s equality throughout the world and for generations to come.

Join the Goal Five Team!

In the words of Goal Five, ‘getting more girls into the game takes a team.’ Largely based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Goal Five is seeking motivated leaders who share a passion for their mission: to elevate women in sports and in society.

A relatively young company, Goal Five offers much opportunity for growth and leadership. If you are interested in learning more about opportunities with the Goal Five team, click here.

We are excited to join Goal Five on this journey and are thrilled to watch them as they implement real change.

Emerging Blue's Holiday Gift Guide 2021

It’s the best time of the year! The holidays are finally here.

With the season of giving, comes the challenge of finding the perfect gifts for your loved ones. To make your life a little bit easier this time of year, our talent leaders at Emerging Blue have put together a 2021 Gift Guide with our favorite picks of this year.

It’s five o’clock somewhere, so what’s better to gift than a collection of classic and modern cocktail glasses? Scott loves the pop of fun that Lolly Gag’s cocktail sets add to his bar cart year round. Whether you choose to celebrate with champagne, martinis, or Scott’s personal favorite, a Maple Old Fashioned, these Bar & Wine Essentials are perfect for all occasions.

On Christina’s wish list this year is a new cookware set from Caraway Home! With the amount of cooking Christina does on a daily basis for her growing family, she would love to add a fun pop of color in her kitchen. And the best part? Knowing that she’s using safe, chemical free products to feed her loved ones.

The Performance Jogger by Vuori is one of Karen’s favorite items in her closet. They come in 14 colors and are made from Vuori’s softest and most stretchy material. These joggers are perfect for traveling, lounging, or when Karen’s chasing after her girls. She loves that they still look brand new after 2 years of wear!

The Everlane Oversized Alpaca Crew is on Alonya’s wish list. Alonya lives by upscale basics, as opposed to fast fashion styles, and this sweater ticks all those boxes- classic styling in a beautiful Alpaca wool. She already has this sweater in Grey Heather but the Winter White is great for the holidays. This Oversized Alpaca Crew has all the warmth of a cozy winter knit with a plush, airy feel. Alonya also loves Alpaca because it’s better for the environment - alpacas are soft-hooved and gentle grazers, which makes them easier on pastures than other herd animals. Alonya loves buying from Everlane as their ethical manufacturing practices are incredible. Being able to read up about the factories and the people who are making the product she’s purchasing is pretty neat.

On Pooja’s holiday wish list is the Therabody Theragun Elite. This amazing massage gun provides quiet relaxation and quick recovery for all kinds of athletes and is perfect for busy mom life! This massage gun works deep into muscles to melt away tension and relieve soreness in minutes, empowering you to care for your body daily. All it takes is a quick 30 second sweep to activate the body before a workout or over your shoulders after a long day.

On Madison’s holiday wish list is SCOUT’s Pocket Rocket Tote Bag. This bag is perfect for any occasion Madison is attending while providing versatility and style. From running to the grocery store to a day on the beach, this bag includes lots storage and organization while still being compact.

Spending time on the water is one of Maggie’s all-time favorite pastimes, so naturally, her closet go-to is her Women’s Bamboo Weekender Hoody by Free Fly Apparel. Maggie’s loyal to this Hoody for it’s breathability and cooling feel, even in South Carolina’s hottest 100+ degree days. The best part? The Weekender Hoody has UPF 40+ sun protection, so Maggie can focus on enjoying her time with friends and family, rather than worrying about reapplying her sunscreen throughout the day.

On Colleen's wish list are Soulvation Hair Ties.  With three little girls, Colleen always has multiple hair ties on her wrist.  With Soulvation Hair Ties she can be prepared and fashionable. These cute boho Hair Ties make for a perfect bracelet and are developed to keep your hair secure. Lots of cute colors and gentle on all hair types!

Like their focus on a building a high functioning team, Rhone is also making breakthroughs in the apparel industry with their premium fabrics and innovative technology. Driven by principle and balance, Rhone does not compromise on the on their team or their product.

They set out on a journey to explore the latest and greatest in textile technology, and to build a company around it. On this journey, the founders had one goal in mind: to deliver a menswear brand with integrity and versatility in every piece they create. Building a team to do that was… and still is... essential in realizing that goal.

 Responsibility Philosophy

Proving that supporting a cause has roots in all things good for the planet, Rhone has a unique and admirable approach to sustainability. They identify as ‘responsible’ rather than ‘sustainable’. Their philosophy is open and transparent, “Honestly, we aren’t sustainable, but that will not stop us from trying. We are taking actions today to create a better tomorrow.”

Organic cotton, recycled polyester, merino wool, modal, and recycled polyester (just to name a few) are some of the sustainable fibers Rhone incorporates in the material of their Responsible Products, all marked with a unique “Responsible” logo. This impressive company doesn’t stop their sustainable efforts at the seam, however. Starting in the spring of 2021, Rhone has begun using recycled materials for packaging of their products as well.

Not only are Rhone’s products and packaging held to a high standard, but so are their partners and producers. Rhone ensures that their production partners have fair, clean environments for their employees across the globe.

Location, Location

Headquartered in Connecticut, just 45 minutes from New York City, with 5+ retail stores, an impressive e-commerce presence, and a 20% growth in wholesale this year, Rhone is destined to continue on their path of evolving and expanding.
