As the Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for pre-sales activities with customers in North America. This is a unique customer-facing role, involving a mixture of strong entrepreneurial skills and complex technical knowhow.
The Senior Sales Engineer is responsible for customer-facing technical activities, presentations at customer meetings and events, creating and distributing demonstrations of comapnies solutions and customer training (sales and technical).
Responsibilities; Sr. Sales Engineer
· Proactively identify new sales opportunities based on thorough understanding of customer requirements and put these into the perspective of a sales process
· Professionally interact with Executive level resources within customer
· Drive all technical aspects of the sales process
· Support the sales team in achieving revenue objectives, including:
o technical elements of the account plan
o day-to-day dialogue with technical staff at customers and partners
o product planning
o development of appropriate sales strategies and tactics to ensure that there is a qualified sales pipeline (product perspective)
· Respond to the technical portions of RFI/RFQ responses and be the technical representative in negotiations
· Report on competitive landscape and positioning
· When necessary, assist in project management of professional services projects
Competence requirements
· Have a BS or higher
· 3 or more years of experience of technical sales of products and solutions within the Cellular and/or Fixed network and IP domain.
· Have business knowledge of Mobile / Wireless marketplace, with Carrier / Operator focus
· Have proven “customer-handling” skills with ability to present well at both a technical and business level
· Strong understanding of cellular network technologies such as LTE, HSPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, CDMA
· Strong understanding of the technology associated with operator infrastructure equipment including IP, Wireless LAN, WiMax, VLR/HLR, VPN technologies including IPSEC, AAA, GGSN, SGSN, PCRF, Radius, Deep Packet Inspection, IP routing and switching, Windows, Mac OS X, iOS and Android operating systems.
· Ability to research new and competitive technology to develop product requirement documents, white papers and competitive analysis material.
· High level of self-sufficiency, proactivity and ability to focus on supporting the sales team in closing the sale
· Be fluent in English, written and oral. Knowledge of other languages a plus.
· Experience in a software consulting environment, or other project management experience a plus.

San Francisco, CA unless otherwise agreed with employee.
Travel is required, both domestic and international (approx. 35%)
