Junior Web Designer : Freelance : Los Angeles

We are looking for a strong junior web designer:

You will be responsible for:

Designing branded emails and banner advertisements. .

Assisting in maintenance of the company’s website and any online presence

Partnering with the E-commerce team on the day-to-day creative updates and site changes, using both flash and html.

Assisting in organization, manipulation, and some re-touching of digital imagery. Includes maintaining consistency of image quality and coloration for images from multiple sources and being able to FTP images to and from vendors and keeping these files ordered on server.

Participating in new idea sessions and the possible development and execution of those ideas (i.e.: lifestyle environments, shopping experiences, new sites, etc).

Supporting manager with Creative design and execution for companies website and all portal advertising needs (banners, content modules, etc.).

Partnering with the companies creative team as well as participate in the daily brainstorming and discussions of the websites business team for design and business related strategies.

Requirements:

BFA/BA in Design, Digital Design, Fine Art or related field

Web program/technological skills:Adobe CS 5 Design and Web Suites (Photoshop, ImageReady, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Acrobat) as well as familiarity with HTML & Actionscript. Good understanding of email marketing standards, interactive design principles, usability and online branding issues. .Strong organizational skills and the ability to provide clean files for Photoshop and Flash in a Mac environment.

Portfolio should demonstrate an understanding of basic design principles as well attention to detail in typography and layout. Drawing / Illustration skills a plus.
